S (ensational) Cuisine
Healthy and low fat food simply equal less flavour, right? Wrong! At least according to Ob-oom Chutrakul, executive consultant chef at S Cuisine, a new restaurant which is part of the award-winning S Medical Spa complex. "Without compromising on flavours, today's health cuisine is as yummy as you want it to be," guarantees Ob-oom "Mini C".
S Cuisine specializes in great-tasting health cuisine. The menus contain no dairy products, no coconut milk, and also practically no cooking oil, with only a couple of drops of olive oil in a few dishes. Moreover, deep fried dishes are absolutely forbidden, and the white sugar is switched to less refined brown sugar. Moving away from using processed ingredients as well as salt will make dishes healthier, and an imported low sodium salt is used in S Cuisineâs kitchen. Â In fact each dish on the menu is a perfect testament to the restaurantâs slogan âDeliciously Lightâ inexpensive, healthy and tasty food that wonât be a burden on your waistline but will leave you feeling satisfied.
While a cheeseburger sold at a fast food outlet there are about 500 calories, nothing on S Cuisineâs menu has more than 250. The dishes at S Cuisine come with numbers that shows the calories â chicken curry in pita bread (193.95 Kcal), grilled naked prawns on lemongrass stalk (27.94 Kcal per stalk with 3 black tiger prawns), grilled vegetable lasagna with dice salmon (195.71 Kcal), and desserts of a chilled mango pudding (50.85 Kcal).
"Calories intake depends on the individual. But at S Cuisine, you can actually eat three fulfilling meals a day without exceeding 1,000 Kcal," says Mini C.
